I am a Digital Marketer, Graphics Creator, Website Designer, Content Creator and eCommerce Entrepreneur, from Adelaide, Australia who loves to have bright colours in her hair. But who is Suzy Molloy away from the computer screen?

Recently, I had some fun on Craiyon.com, creating a series of self-portraits with an AI model that draws images from text prompts. So for something different, I am sharing some of the creations as a light-hearted way to let you know a little bit more about myself.
My series of digital self portraits

Some days my disability has me out with my wheelchair. Especially if it is a really big day of activities, or I am going to a really large place. Like some large, busy shopping centres and outlets. Other times I just need my rollator frame, so I always have a seat. On a really good day, for very short amounts of time, it’s just my walking stick. Or the stick and a wall.
Born and mostly educated in Australia, I did get my High School Diploma in the USA. So although I speak really good English, I get so confused about spelling. Working on worldwide projects, I am not ever sure if I should use the UK English or the US spellings and pronunciations.

I’m an Aussie super-mum who stepped back from running a self-employed business to focus on my kids for just over 10 years.
Actually I think all parenting requires moments with super-powers. Everyone has their own challenges. Battles to overcome, illnesses and obstacles life throws our way.

Just getting back to run her business in 2022, part-time because through it all, I am a Spoonie. I did try to start up during 2019, but urgent family situations and health emergencies had other ideas.
Since the pandemic began I feel a bit like we live in the shadows. With a health limitations, compromised immune system, we were semi-reclusive before others were forced to be locked down.
WCAG and Accessibility.
I have been a big ally for accessibility. Mostly for website technology but disabled and chronically ill people deserve better accessibility everywhere.
Normally I am a sticker for simple tweaks like what has been legislated for with the ADA and WCAG. Things like ALT image tags and full stops, because I know how much they help people to be read digital information and access more websites.

I’m so grateful to live now, when we have internet access. Telehealth and online shopping. I remember wanting to have psychology phone sessions over 20 years ago when having panic attacks following a car accident. This is just one example of the many things many other disabled people wanted.
We’ve known the technologies have existed and wanting their use normalised. To quote someone I spoke to very regularly during 2019 & 2020, “It took a pandemic to do it”.

What’s with all the spoons?
A Spoonie is someone with a disability or chronic invisible illness, who relates to the Spoon Theory metaphor created in 2003 by writer Christine Miserandino. I have not yet managed to watch her tell this story of how The Spoon Theory was born without crying.
From time she says, ” a person who is sick always lives with the looming thought that tomorrow may be the day that a cold comes, or an infection, or any number of things that could be very dangerous.”
Trying to adjust all that I want and need to do with my limited spoonfuls of choices and energy. I’m constantly juggling spoons, life, family and work while I cart my frame, or my portable seat and try not to fall. Or drop anymore spoons,

I encourage you to give it a try. Craiyon.com, is a free AI model that draws images from text prompts. Let me know what you come up with. I would love to see your series of self portraits too.
